Château de Fieuzal 2018

This Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Fieuzal red is a delightfully complex blend of multiple grape varieties, authentically expressing the vineyard’s incredible diversity. Aged for an average of 12 months in French Oak barrels, the wine is elegant, confidently expressive and dynamic throughout the whole of its lifetime. On the palate, the wine is dense and silky at first, with an absolutely remarkable freshness that is the unique feature of this vintage and allows for great intensity with a singular finish.

Food Pairing: Slow-cooked beef brisket, beef pie, lamb chops.

Château de Fieuzal

Irish owned Château de Fieuzal situated in Pessac-Léognan has further Irish connection through its winemaker Stephen Carrier. In 2001, Brenda & Lochlann Quinn bought Château Fieuzal and the estate covers 75 hectares, 10 of which are used to grow white wine grapes. In 1959 they were awarded the official status of Graves Grands Cru Classé wines.

Stephen Carrier brought with him a blend of classic French winemaking skills and experience of New World techniques. Working closely the Quinns, with their passion for wine, and Carrier, with his rigorous and innovative winemaking style, have together broadened Fieuzal’s reputation as a wine well-worth drinking.
