Weingut Thörle – Riesling Feinherb (off dry) 2019

A semi-dry Riesling style reminding of a dryer Kabinett with a bright yellow color. The bouquet is pure and filigreed, as it offers up citric scents of lime and green apples, limestone and a touch of wild yeasts. On the palate the wine is light, with fine intensity of flavour, bright acidity, nice focus and a complex finish. A great wine you could drink all day. At the beginning of october 2019 the grapes were picked exclusively by hand at the ideal moment of their ripeness. The pressing, the vinification and the wine-maturing took place in our winery in Saulheim. Prior to pressing, we left the crushed grapes 14 hours on their skins to extract a maximum of flavour compounds. The musts were fermented spontaneously, 100% in stainless steel. After a maturation of 4 months on fine lees, the wines were bottled in the springtime season following the harvest.

Food Pairing: enchiladas, spicy ceviche, sushi, spicy curry dishes.

Weingut Thörle

The Thörle family owns excellent parcels in Saulheim’s Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyard sites in Rheinhessen with a large diversity of terroir. Since 2006, the fortunes of the wine estate have been in the hands of the next generation in the form of Johannes and Christoph Thörle, who manage the winery with innovative skill and set the estate’s focus more on the traditional varietals Riesling and Pinot Noir.

The vineyards are managed organically, and the domaine is being taken in a biodynamic direction. The Thörle brothers obtain their distinctive, mineral Riesling and delicate Pinot Noir from the characteristically calcareous limestone soils.
