We are delighted to announce that we are once again running a wine course on wine appreciation as part of NUI Galway Online Courses starting this February.
Kicking off the week beginning 1st February and running online over 8 weeks, one evening per week (7.00pm – 8.30pm) and it costs €100.
This course is designed for people who wish to learn about a wide range of wines and to develop their wine tasting skills. This course is structured to give you the extensive knowledge about the world’s great wine regions, grape varieties and wine styles.
‘Wines of the World’ is ideal for both wine enthusiasts (from seasoned wine lovers to newbies) and wine industry professionals. You will explore the ‘systematic approach’ to wine tasting and discover the factors that impact style and quality through tasting wines that have been carefully selected.
By the end of the course you will be more confident when tasting wine, have a more developed palate and sense of aroma, be able to identify common wine faults, have an added insight when selecting wines (will know what to look for in a wine) and know the history and key characteristics of the major wine region.
Each class will come with a recommended wine list. Participants may choose to purchase a wine from the list and participate in the wine tasting skills explored as part of this course.
Oenologist & Viticulturist, founder of A WINE IDEA Sevgi Tüzel-Conghaile will lead this course. Sevgi has extensive experience in running wine tasting events as well as in wine education and wine making.
